He started this company in July of 1980.  February 2001 - Chosen branch director leadership award, from a national group in the ARA, Awards and Recognition Association. September 2000  Steve was appointed Alabama State Branch Director  of the ARA (Awards and Recognition Association) Currently,  Steve is also doing consulting as an ITS (Information Technology Specialist), especially in E-Commerce, and data mining relating to marketing mostly in the Sporting Goods and Awards Industry.  He was a technology speaker at 2 International Awards Industry shows,  for the ARA - Awards and Recognition Association at the Midwest ARA -Nashville Awards Show , the  East Coast- ARA Secaucus Awards Show in Atlantic City and was the keynote speaker at the SGAA - Sporting Goods Agents Association's  annual meeting at the  sports Super Show, in Atlanta, Ga.  Steve gave a presentation / panel discussion at the Super Show in Atlanta, Georgia on February 12, 2000 along with John Horton, of DoubleClick. This was part of the esports report conference sponsored by Miller Freeman, Inc. a United News & Media company. Other speakers at the conference included representatives from Microsoft and America Online. Also,  a seminar was given to the Shreveport, La. to the LA branch of ARA,  Steve also addressed the e-Sports report conference at this years Super Show in Atlanta, GA along with John Horton of DolubleClick. The Conference was sponsored by the Miller Freeman  Sports Group. Click here for some sample web cast  Steve has produced .  Steve and  a colleague  are currently in the process of writing a book on e-commerce as it relates to small businesses (sports & awards industry dealers in particular), Information Technology (IT) trends, and future predictions, and relating to sales representatives, distributors and manufacturers. The book is scheduled to be released by spring of 2000. It will also have an e-book on CD-ROM included which will contain a e-copy of the book on the CD, free software, demo programs, many full color pictures of examples and more. Steve was one of the first Rangers (at the time, a progressive youth program of the HPD) to be hired on at HPD as a full-fledged Officer. While in law enforcement, Steve received honors as Policeman of the Year from the Exchange Club of Huntsville and also from the Fraternal Order of Police. Steve served on the board of directors of the Fraternal Order of Police for three years, and was President for two years. During this time, he represented the interest of law enforcement as a registered lobbyist with the Alabama State Legislature and with the help of many other friends and law officers, along with an enlightened legislature, helped to pass the year's major law enforcement bill for Huntsville and Madison County, namely, the "Policeman's Bill of Rights Law". H.B. 904.        Steve served on the board of directors of the Rocket City Federal Credit Union. He is past member of The Huntsville Jaycees and the Optimist Club of Madison.  His hobbies include golf, swimming, arts, and internet related research.      He graduated  from S.R. Butler High School in Huntsville, AL .and received an Associates Degree in Police Science from Calhoun Jr. College, making the Deans list.  Steve attended the University of Montevallo, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Business and also attended Alabama A & M University in the Graduate program of Urban Studies for one year.
